Tuesday, May 9 | 11:30 - 12:30 | A. Okapi 3

Download: Engage2017_AppsInTheCloud.pptx
You've moved hundreds (or thousands!) of users to the cloud for IBM Verse mail, but what about the hundreds (or thousands!) of IBM Domino applications you're running in-house? How many servers could you retire with those apps running in the cloud? In this session, you'll walk through the entire application migration process with two experts, from the provider-selection process to the final data moves and application maintenance cycle. You'll learn how to identify potential difficulties with specific applications, estimate time requirements, and use specific tools to make your migration easier; you'll also see real-world examples from among your peers who have already made the move. Be ready when the boss asks, "What about our apps?"

Monday, May 8 | 11:45 - 12:30 | A. Okapi 3

See here: setting-up-a-hybrid-domino-environment-to-ease-your-way-to-the-cloud
Are you looking at Cloud options and wondering how and if you can get there from where you are? If you have Domino on premises and are considering Cloud then a good option is a hybrid architecture which maintains all your on premises configuration managed by your own administrators but adds Cloud client access managed by IBM. We will look at how simple it is to create this hybrid solution using Domino passthru servers and review how things like user and directory maintenance, client access and mail routing will then work. From Domino Admin to Domino Hybrid Admin in a few simple steps.

Discover the power of plugins that can be used for IBM Connections. In my company these are heavily used, and they have been the key factor in getting users to adapting Connections, since it makes it much faster for them to share documents and emails, and increase collaboration.
Learn how administrators can skin and brand the plugins to fit with their company logo, colors and templates. A similar presentation was given by Hogne last year, but after creating a complete manual for the IBM Notes plugins and posted it online, a lot of people who missed it have asked if he can give it again.

Administration on the cloud has always been a critical task in terms of security and the scale of users to manage. An Administrator has always had to control the entire organization. A new Connections Cloud feature is Partitioning. This would decentralize administration of users, by partitioning an organization into groups of users and have a separate administrator for each partition. This session will take you into the details of Departmental Admin, and give you an Administrator's view of an organization and how we can 'Departmentalize' your organization for better and more efficient manageability. Not to be missed!
