LoopBack is an open source framework build on Express / NodeJS by StrongLoop (an IBM company) and will be used in future releases of Domino to attract new javascript developers. Create, run and manage API’s using LoopBack is easy and can be run on-premises or in cloud solutions like IBM Cloud (Bluemix).

And that’s before anybody considered the potential impact of adding 10 million Notes applications to the mix? In this session we will explain the basic concepts behind the Internet of Things and how this translates into the world of Notes/Domino. We will explore the opportunities that exist to integrate the data in your Notes databases into the new global consciousness with a demonstration of an Amazon Echo interface for Domino applications. The IoT represents a huge opportunity for Notes Developers and Administrators to bring the Notes/Domino platform to the fore, and we want to show you how to get started.

While many clubs have historically relied on large teams of scouts who would personally visit as many matches as possible to discover new talent, more recently there has been a shift towards data-driven scouting and the application of new technologies like AI to improve the scouting process. JAAI has partnered with a German Bundesliga soccer club to take its scouting to the next level, and uses Watson to help with the discovery and analysis of new players. We will show the process of an AI project and how Watson services, big data and deep learning can be combined to generate actionable insights.

It enables developers to create desktop applications using the Chromium Web browser and the Node.js framework.
An Electron application is developed using JavaScript, Html and CSS. Access to data in the backend can be done in many ways.
SQL, FlatFile, or, with appropriate interfaces, also to data from an IBM Domino application. Such an interface may e.g. be realized with OpenNTF SmartNsf.
The session explains the basics of Electron. During Live Coding a simple desktop application will be created.
Finally, we will show how to use the data from an IBM Domino application in an Electron Desktop application.
Target audience is developers who have not yet worked with Electron. Knowledge of JS, HTML and CSS is great but not neccessary.
