We faced a challenge of bringing 50GB of data from an IBM Notes database into IBM Connections and from a local usage to a large audience in and outside of the company.
I will talk about the starting point, the steps needed for and the file migration, the integration of an existing IBM Notes application in IBM Connections and how the solution helps users from different companies to find and share information.

Since 2002 his core competencies include Client Management and Notes / Domino infrastructure analysis and optimization.
He travels most of his time because he enjoys working with great companies in many different countries around the globe.

Bus05. Direct from the OGS: Transformation with modern Software in East Africa

The first ten minutes will be the real OGS Session about this project in East Africa including the film shown on screen.
We will then talk about how we power innovation and engagement at WebGate and how we where able to pull this of. How we where able to invest more than 1'500 hours into this non profit project.
We will show that with this project we not only transformed the life of many thousend farmers in East Africa but also the workforce of WebGate into a modern development team and our engineering into a very effective cloud enabling department.

Roberto Mazzoni is head of the Information Technology User Services group of the University of Zurich, Switzerland. He has led the project to establish a groupware solution for the University. His team runs and supports the collaboration services for IBM Notes, IBM Sametime and IBM Connections. He promotes and encourages the usage of IBM Connections at the University of Zurich.

Steve McDonagh is the current Global Collaboration Manager for AVX Kyocera Limited.
He is leading the project that has moved the European and Asian user base from on prem Domino, Sametime, Quickr to a full Smartcloud mail and connections hybrid cloud deployment. He has also worked with IBM midrange systems for 30 years and has spoken and authored material for what was the AS/400 and is now the IBM System i.
Steve worked closely with the Smartcloud on-boarding team to enable two factor authentication using SAML on the Smartcloud deployment.
He was made an IBM ICS champion for 2016 mainly for his work with ILUG, UKLUG and most recently ICONUK.

In this session we will not only look at why is it important to protect your server ID but also how to protect it while still allowing unattended server restarts! We will also see how to secure the ID Vault with BCC DominoProtect to prevent malicious access. Perhaps you would like to open up your Domino server for web access? We'll look at what to keep in mind and how to do it easily.
