Ana02. Making Sense of Data Analytics: Work Smarter, not Necessarily Harder
Tuesday, May 9 | 11:30 - 12:30 | E. Gorilla 5
Whether you are in HR, Sales, IT, Security, Marketing and Communications or Business Transformation, you know that one of today’s major business problems is that one of Employee Engagement, or, to be more precise, of employee disengagement. When only 13% of the global workforce is engaged at work (Cf. Gallup 2013 - https://hbr.org/2013/10/map-the-sad-state-of-global-workplace-engagement), one has got to question whether we have got a rather catastrophic business problem, or an unprecedented business opportunity to transform the way we collaborate and get work done. What if we could use data analytics to make sense of what’s happening around us? To seek out the different business opportunities that may be laying around out there dormant in order to influence a shift of behaviours on how employees get work done more effectively by enabling a more open, public and transparent work environment where open knowledge sharing, cooperation, coopetition and collaboration would help transform our work culture(s). What if each life of business embarks on a journey to identify new business opportunities, new markets, by making sense of data analytics to help us work smarter, not necessarily harder? Whether it’s data coming out of traditional tools like email and applications, or whether it’s data coming out of your own Enterprise Social Networking platform (i.e. IBM Connections), there is always an opportunity to seek > sense > share what we know, and use, to eventually transform the way we work. What if you could make use of smart data analytics to influence the increase and further growth of the overall levels of employee engagement, talent retention, sales (by becoming a customer centric organisation), existing or new marketing goals as well as fine tuning more effectively your entire IT infrastructure. Would you also want to work smarter, not necessarily harder? Come and join us then to find out how we could help you AND your business transform the way you work and interact with your customers using data analytics to inspire and influence smarter work!

Learn how to put business into your social business, by infusing the networks with meaningful analytics, personalized to your problem. Learn how to leverage the entire IBM Collaboration stack to enrich self-service BI with context, to build consensus. Eme01. Socialytics: Accelerating IBM Connections Adoption with Watson Analytics
Tuesday, May 9 | 16:00 - 16:45 | E. Gorilla 5
Social adoption is a challenge for many companies. What is the most effective utilization of the environment? Who is using which resources, what in the environment is dormant or orphaned? Where should efforts focus in order to improve adoption? All of these questions can be difficult to answer and there is no "one size fits all" solution as each organization has their own unique needs. Join Femke Goedhart and Franz Walder and learn how to tackle this topic using IBM Connections and Watson. Starting out with IBM Bluemix Data Connect to collect and combine data from relevant sources, they use the cognitive power of IBM Watson Analytics to answer those tricky questions and provide solutions to real-world adoption challenges.

Str05. Employee Engagement using IBM Connections
Tuesday, May 9 | 11:30 - 12:30 | B. Okapi 2
Mears Group today employs over 20,000 people in every region of the UK. A long standing Notes Domino, Quickr and Sametime user, in 2015 Mears embarked on a journey to roll out IBM Connections cloud to all its employees in order to facilitate a new way to engage with its employee base. The biggest challenge we faced was how to engage 16,000 employees who had no access to any information systems. Their interaction with the new environment had to be intuitive (from their first interaction) and provide them with relevant information that ensured they use the system on a consistent basis. The aim of this session is to explain the vision, the challenges and the current status of the implementation and we will demo our new environment.

Monday, May 8 | 16:00 - 16:20 | B. Okapi 2
In this session you will learn how the Social Connections user group took the jump from using Slack as our team collaboration tool to IBM Watson Workspace. We joined the limited beta program in July in a very early phase and functionality was still limited. However, the opportunity to help shape this new tool and provide valuable feedback to IBM was impossible to resist. We will explain why you should be using this new tool to increase your productivity by showing use cases from our team and why to choose IBM Watson Workspace over other tools on the market. Join our session and see how 9 fairly unorganized, devoted team members from all over the world organize 2 conferences a year in our free time using this tool.

Felix Binsack (TIMETOACT GROUP) @TIMETOACTGROUP
It is mind boggling to see two people create an event that rivals those put on by larger vendors with dozens of resources.
And huge thanks to Theo and the others for giving me my first international speaking engagement!
Theo is a legend, Theo has style. And he is putting together the best event in this space, year after year.
Engage was my first UG as a speaker and it has developed into arguably the premier user group for ICS in Europe.
Yet again a brilliantly done event. One that is used as the yard-stick by which all other user group events are measured.
Theo and Hilde did it again: Engage was bigger than last year, venue was impressive and the event most successful.
It was a pleasure, due to the efforts of Theo his team, the sponsors, the location and the participants. Much appreciated!
I was extremely impressed on all levels. Thank you to Theo Heselmans for the opportunity to speak at this event!
I’ve been to several of the past Engage conferences and Theo always puts on a great event but this was better than ever.
What can one say about this Engage, Eindhoven, NL. It is in fact THE European user group meeting,...
Theo Heselmans has raised the bar yet again as to what can be achieved with organizing an IBM User Group event.
